For 2012 Health & Safety Representative (HSR) Training – 5 Days Under the new WHS Legislation to be introduced from January 1, 2012, Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) will replace OHS Representatives and Health and Safety Committees (HSCs) will replace OHS Committees. PROPOSED TRAINING ARRANGEMENTS As the role of a HSR will include additional powers and functions compared to that of an OHS Representative (including the ability to issue a Provisional Improvement Notice (PIN) and to direct that unsafe work ceases), a new training course is currently being developed. This course will be available to newly elected HSRs who have not completed the current 4 day WorkCover Course in OHS Consultation. When the details of this course are received from WorkCover NSW training dates will be posted. Health & Safety Representative Bridging Course – 1 Day Under the new WHS Legislation to be introduced from January 1, 2012, Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) will replace OHS Representatives and Health and Safety Committees (HSCs) will replace OHS Committees. If your current OHS Representatives or OHS Committee members (who have completed the current 4 day WorkCover Course in OHS Consultation) are to continue as HSRs or HSCs under this new legislation, then they will be required to complete this training course to continue to meet the legislative obligations of the organisation.
