Job Placement Program

The Job Placement Program is a group based job seeking program, the program involves participants attending for set days and times per week for individual or group job seeking. The program can last from 12 to 24 weeks and covers all the essential areas job seekers need for gaining employment in the current labour market, sessions are closely monitored for attendance and participation, sessions include:

  • Resume preparation and completion of a winning resume
  • Writing applications, letters, completing application kits including essential and desirable information and cover letters for applications
  • Cold calling, directly marketing yourself to employers, covering cold calling over the phone, by mail and in person. Tips on how to speak to the decision maker, what to say and how to follow up
  • Interviews, preparation, commonly asked questions, different types of interview questions such as behavioural and traditional, mock interviews and role playing, do’ and don’ts, overcoming nerves
  • Disclosure of personal information, guidance on how and when to disclose personal information such as injury, disability, criminal history, long periods of unemployment and adjustments or modifications required at the workplace
  • Using job search technology, where to look for jobs, how to look for jobs, where the jobs are that suit the job seekers skills and abilities, overview of online job search engines, recruitment and labour hire companies
  • Job retention and acceptable work place behaviours, how to keep the job once you have it, advise on what is acceptable behaviour in the workplace

We also offer sessions of vocational counselling to assist job seekers through the job search process, these can include:

  • Staying motivated and managing setbacks
  • Goal setting, goals for rehabilitation and vocational direction
  • Increasing self confidence and independence
  • Stress management and dealing with frustrations
  • The art of communicating, dealing with key parties
  • Problem solving, overcoming obstacles

Costing of the Job Placement Program
